September 2023

The first cold and wet spells hit, and the leaves have begun to fall. With the masses headed back to work, Amsterdam is no longer overrun by tourists. And with this a sigh of relief as we seem to gain our city back. September is a slower month, one that slowly transitions us into winter. Warm evenings transition to cold, crisp mornings just as quickly as rainy days shift to cloudless skies and back again. I shot two rolls throughout September, a month where ideas flowed faster than photos. It’s been quite a month of contemplation and honestly, self sabotage as well. Being more in my head results in hesitation in photo making. But through these emotions often come artistic ideas. And despite shooting two rolls I’ve taken my favorite self portrait to date and have spent the time contemplating and planning future projects.
